I’m Debra Akasha, the artist behind Mystic She, a name that reflects the dual essence of spirit and form, the unseen and the seen. “Mystic” honors the soul’s infinite wisdom and subtle energy flowing beyond words, while “She” represents the self who experiences, expresses, and creates, living fully in the physical world while seeking the deeper truths of the universe.
From an early age, music and dance were my outlet. Encouraged by my grandmother, I began piano lessons at eight, performed in student concerts and family gatherings. I always looked forward to the yearly cultural dance competitions during my elementary years, this sparked my passion for dance. In my early teens, I attended St. Joseph Ballet (now The Wooden Floor), I was trained in ballet under Sister Beth Burns and later, Juilliard alumna, Melanie Rios Glaser, who introduced contemporary dance improvisation, a dance that encourages introspection, exploration, self expression, and vulnerability. From then I continued to explore other genres of dance.
In my late teens my spiritual practice started with my Mother who took me along with her prayer group, they would serve their community doing healing, clearing homes, praying for people. It was during this time I observed channeling, exorcism and miracles, this continued into my early adulthood. In my late 20's my
Godmother introduced me to yoga/meditation, along with the practice of breathwork, and tai-chi, which also included tea ceremonies after class . I then explored other wisdom teachings on my own and went into deeper exploration into the teachings and true meaning of Yoga and other cultural healing practices.

My work is rooted in both formal study and lived practice. Over the past two decades I’ve explored movement, energy work, and sound as pathways for healing and transformation. This blend of professional training and personal experience shapes every offering.
Alongside my formal training, I’ve cultivated a deep personal practice of meditation, movement, and intuitive exploration. These experiences continually inform my work, allowing me to create spaces that are both structured and fluid, where sound, movement, and presence meet.
