Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach me at mysticshealchemy @ gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

If you are pregnant or trying to conceive, please be aware of the following situations where sound healing would not be advised:

High-risk conditions where sound therapy should be avoided or postponed: •Threatened miscarriage

•Placenta Problems: Complications like placental abruption (placenta detaches from the uterus) or placenta previa (placenta covers the cervix) can lead to bleeding and other issues

•Pre-term labor or contractions

•Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding

•Severe preeclampsia

•Complications in multiple pregnancies, including:

  • Twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome
  • Preterm labor in multiples

In these cases, specialized medical care takes precedence

High-intensity sounds during pregnancy can pose potential risks to the developing fetus, and therefore, pregnant individuals should take precautions to limit their exposure.

Here's why and what to consider:

  • Fetal Hearing Damage: Loud noises can travel through the mother's body and the amniotic fluid to the fetus. The fetus's ears are sensitive and still developing, and prolonged or repeated exposure to very loud sounds could potentially damage the delicate structures of the inner ear, leading to hearing problems later in life.

  • Low Birth Weight: Studies have suggested a link between exposure to high levels of occupational noise during pregnancy and a slightly reduced fetal growth and an increased risk of babies being born small for gestational age or with low birth weight.

  • Stress Response in the Mother: Loud noise can be a stressor for the pregnant individual, potentially leading to increased stress hormone levels. These hormones can cross the placenta and may influence the baby's development.

  • Disrupted Sleep Patterns: In the later stages of pregnancy (third trimester), a fetus develops more defined sleep-wake cycles. Exposure to loud noises could potentially disrupt these cycles, impacting the baby's movement patterns and overall development.

Recommendations for minimizing risks:

  • Avoid Very Loud Environments: Limit exposure to places with high noise levels like concerts, nightclubs, or excessively noisy workplaces.

  • Be Mindful of Decibel Levels: The World Health Organization (WHO) suggests avoiding noise levels above 85 decibels. Other experts recommend avoiding noise louder than 115 dBA (similar to a chainsaw or a loud rock concert), even with hearing protection, as it may not fully protect the fetus.

  • Low-Frequency Sounds and Vibrations: Pay extra attention to avoiding low-frequency sounds (those you can feel as vibrations or rumbling), as they can travel more easily through the body to the fetus. Avoid leaning against speakers or any source of vibration.

A Sacred Healing Arts Practitioner is an individual who uses a variety of traditional and spiritual practices to guide people toward physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Their work often involves mind-body integration, with techniques like art, music, or movement therapy, alongside traditional methods such as herbal medicine, bodywork, and spiritual counseling. The term encompasses a wide range of spiritual, cultural, and traditional healing practices, from shamanism to modern integrative therapies.

Key aspects of their work

  • Holistic approach: They focus on the whole person—body, mind, and spirit—rather than on a single symptom.
  • Mind-body integration: Many practitioners use techniques that connect mental and emotional states with physical health, such as meditation, yoga, and breathwork.
  • Creative and spiritual expression: The use of art, music, and other creative media can be a way for clients to express emotions, cope with crises, or process grief.
  • Guidance and empowerment: Instead of providing answers, a practitioner acts as a guide, helping clients discover their own path to healing through their chosen art or practice.
  • Diverse modalities: The specific tools and techniques vary widely depending on the practitioner's background and training, including:
    • Creative arts: Art therapy, music therapy.
    • Bodywork: Massage, Thai massage, Fascial Stretch Therapy, and other forms of physical manipulation.
    • Traditional and spiritual practices: Shamanism, herbal medicine, aromatherapy, and practices rooted in different cultural and religious traditions.
    • Coaching and counseling: Health and wellness coaching, life coaching, and intuitive guidance
